Overwhelmed. Scattered. Frustrated. Discouraged.
Anxious. Tired. Isolated.⠀

Those are some of the emotions I’ve been working through this week. I’m not writing this to complain, but rather to share the reality of what it’s really like to be an entrepreneur, in case you’re feeling some of these things too. ⠀

Instagram can trick us into believing it’s supposed to be all about “passive income” and trips to Bali. That inspirational quotes are all we need to get through stressful times. ⠀

It can be hard to embrace the chaos that comes with running a business. But entrepreneur or not, life is filled with challenging problems that require big decisions. Life requires us to show up, especially when it’s hard (and we just want to stay in bed).⠀

The season I’m in now is one of change and uncertainty. The work is new and I’m being challenged to grow. It’s uncomfortable and requires loads of focused energy. ⠀

By 3 o’clock each day my brain is Jello. I’m tired when I wake up. I’m not getting on my yoga mat. I’ve struggled to eat nutritious foods. #realtalk

I feel frustrated. Then I feel guilty about feeling frustrated because this is everything I asked for. Have you ever felt like this?⠀

I’m working through it, and opening up in this post is part of working through it. ⠀
(I write and talk my way through most things, thanks for indulging me.)⠀

Today was better. ⠀
I made a huge list of all the little things that were taking up real estate in my mind. I’ve managed to get a lot of it done, which has me breathing easier already.⠀

I had an honest conversation with Mike about where I’m struggling and what help I need from him. (I recently discovered that my husband cannot read my mind. Shocking, I know!)⠀

And while I’m not the greatest at smiling through the chaos I can choose to embrace the following motto, ⠀

“The only way out is through.” ?⠀

Doing the work is the only way I’m going to get it done, so I’m doing the work. ⠀

Are you going through a challenging time right now?
How are you working through it?⠀
