Do you struggle with making decisions?⠀
⠀
I saw a funny meme today that talked about how the road of life is paved with flat squirrels who couldn’t make a decision. I almost laughed my coffee out of my nose at the visual!⠀
⠀
After I regained my composure, I thought about my own struggles with decision-making and how it has impacted my life and business. Looking back, it is those moments of indecision that have cost me the most.⠀
⠀
It is my belief, and tell me if you agree, that a major reason we struggle to make decisions is a fear that we won’t make the RIGHT decision. Are you with me?⠀
⠀
And if we don’t make the RIGHT decision, we’ll end up making the WRONG decision. Does this sound familiar? ⠀
⠀
But the truth is, there isn’t usually one RIGHT choice. We’ve convinced ourselves that there must be ONE way to do it, and if we don’t get it just right, just perfect, then it is WRONG and we have failed. ⠀
⠀
The reality is, there are very few choices we could make that would be so WRONG that they lead straight to total failure. Because there is seldom only one right way to tackle a problem.⠀
⠀
True, some decisions won’t be our best. And a few might even set us back a few paces. But most of our choices will be solid decisions that move us forward to the next thing, and as long as we keep moving we haven’t failed. ⠀
⠀
Whatever decision is weighing on you today, I encourage you to find a way to make a commitment and move it forward. ⠀
⠀
Even if it’s scary. ⠀
⠀
Even if it isn’t entirely clear what the outcome will be. ⠀
⠀
Just make your choice and move on to the next thing. Chances are, the choice you make will be some version of right and you won’t get flattened on the road of life like some indecisive squirrel.⠀
⠀
Don’t be a squirrel.⠀
